How to Reach Panch Kedar?

Panch Kedar Yatra begins from Rishikesh. However, pilgrims may come by air through the Jolly Grant Airport of Dehradun. They may also avail trains either to Haridwar, or Rishikesh. Road journeys are possible too through New Delhi- Haridwar-Rishikesh-Srinagar-Rudraprayag-Pipalkoti – Helang – Kalpeshwar route.

Kedarnath

One of the most popular seats of Lord Shiva in Rudraprayag Distic of Uttrakhand, which consists of the largest of all the 12 Jyotirlingas. It is believe that the hump of Lord Shiva, during His incarnation as a bull, dropped here. The idol is in the irregular shape of the lingam, with a pedestal.

Tungnath

Being one among the highest pilgrimages of Lord Shiva, the place already holds a lot of popularity. The temple remains snow-capped for most of the time. It is believe that Lord Shiva’s arms or, ‘bahu’ fell here.

Location: Rudraprayag, Uttrakhand

Rudranath

Unlike other pilgrimage seats of Lord Shiva, it is a natural rock temple, located amidst the forest. The face of Lord Shiva or ‘mukha’ is worship here as it is believe that Lord Shiva’s face fell here.

Madhyamashwar

The middle part, or the ‘madhya’ part, or the navel of Lord Shiva is worship here. The water from the temple is consider to be very sacred too. It also includes steep trek routes too which increases the difficulty of the pilgrims.

Kalpeshwar

This is a small stone temple and is also the most spiritual one. It is approach through a cave passage. It is believed that the matted tress, ‘jata’ of Lord Shiva, fell here.
